Leslie Melendez is a first-generation college graduate of the University of California, Merced, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Sciences with an emphasis in Molecular and Cell Biology. Raised in South Los Angeles, she witnessed firsthand the challenges faced by individuals and families in low-income communities, particularly the lack of access to essential resources. These experiences inspired her commitment to community service and equity.
Leslie is dedicated to supporting families through her work with nonprofit organizations such as Haven, where she helps expand access to critical services by providing free tax assistance and empowering individuals with financial resources.
