Karissa Medina, a Bakersfield native, serves as the VITA Site Coordinator at Haven Neighborhood Services, where she helps oversee free tax preparation services for low-moderate income individuals and families. Passionate about community engagement, Karissa has a strong background in outreach, social media management, and advocacy. She previously volunteered with PFLAG Bakersfield, supporting LGBTQ+ individuals and their families, and led social media and community engagement initiatives for a local business. Her experience in organizing community programs, managing public communications, and fostering inclusive spaces aligns with Haven’s mission to provide financial empowerment and education. Karissa is committed to making a meaningful impact in the communities Haven serves.
