Santa Monica for All Fund Update: Families Impacted by ICE

Santa Monica for All Fund providing financial assistance to local families

Santa Monica for All Fund Delivers Critical Aid to Local Families

The Santa Monica for All Fund continues to provide essential support to families and workers impacted by recent immigration enforcement actions in Santa Monica.

In response, Haven Services created the Santa Monica for All Fund after raids disrupted households and workplaces. As a result, the initiative reflects the power of collective community action during times of crisis.

To date, the fund has distributed $84,500 in direct financial assistance, helping families navigate an incredibly difficult period.

Why the Santa Monica for All Fund Was Created: A Community in Crisis

On October 17 and November 18, 2025, immigration enforcement activity impacted workers and families across Santa Monica and the greater Los Angeles region.

On October 17, enforcement activity in Santa Monica led to workers being detained at job sites, sending shockwaves through the community. At the same time, reports from CalMatters showed that similar enforcement actions became increasingly common across Los Angeles County.

Then, on November 18, reporting from the Los Angeles Times confirmed that immigration raids targeting workplaces—particularly car washes—intensified across Southern California and led to hundreds of worker detentions.

In the days that followed, the impact was immediate. Workers lost income overnight, and families struggled to cover rent, groceries, and basic necessities. As fear spread, many avoided returning to work, and stability quickly disappeared.

Because of this, the need for urgent, flexible financial support became clear—immediately.

The Impact of the Santa Monica for All Fund

Today, the Santa Monica for All Fund highlights both the scale of need and the strength of community response:

  • $84,500 in total aid distributed
  • 46 households supported with emergency funding
  • 134 individuals assisted during a time of uncertainty

Importantly, each number represents a family that stayed afloat, covered essential expenses, and moved forward with greater stability.

Support That Meets Immediate Needs

For many recipients, this support has been essential.

Specifically, funds help cover everyday necessities such as rent, groceries, and transportation—costs that quickly become overwhelming when income drops. By easing these financial pressures, families can focus on caring for their loved ones and planning their next steps.

At its core, the program delivers fast, flexible assistance, and that mission continues to guide the work today.

Building a Stronger Santa Monica for All Fund

As the initiative evolves, Haven Services works closely with city partners and community organizations to strengthen program delivery.

Now, clear guidelines ensure that support reaches families in a thoughtful and equitable way. In addition, streamlined processes help funds reach households more quickly as new applications come in.

Because of these improvements, the program can expand its reach and respond more efficiently to ongoing community needs.

A Commitment to an Inclusive Santa Monica

At its foundation, this initiative reflects a simple but powerful belief: everyone who contributes to the city—whether they live in Santa Monica or work within it—deserves dignity, stability, and support.

That commitment continues to guide this work every day.
