Elizabeth Roman

VITA Site Coordinator

As a first-generation college student and the eldest in a proud Mexican family, Elizabeth Roman deeply understands the challenges faced by those growing up in lower-income areas of Los Angeles. Elizabeth was born and raised in the neighborhoods of Pico Union and Boyle Heights. She has dedicated herself to serving low-to moderate-income households across the city. Her creative work, ranging from murals and paintings to community-based projects, translation, and teaching—reflects her dedication to empowerment and representation. She has contributed to several nonprofit organizations, including Legacy LA, El Centro de Ayuda, Artivist, and the Boyle Heights Art Conservatory.

Now, as a member of Public Allies with Haven Services, she continues to expand her impact in South Central Los Angeles through VITA’s free tax preparation program, helping provide financial relief to vulnerable populations.
