Inez van Veenendaal grew up in the Chicagoland area, eventually moving to the city and completing her B.S. in Earth and Environmental Sciences at the University of Illinois Chicago. Her early professional experience focused on environmental justice and policy, which is where she developed a passion for serving disenfranchised communities. Inez is eager to help expand Haven Service’s reach to make it a pillar in communities and ensure low and moderate-income households have access to necessary resources and support.
In her most recent role, she has researched policy recommendations for Oak Park, IL, focusing on equitable, sustainable solutions. To expand her scope, she began pursuing grant writing to support organizations she is passionate about. Currently, she volunteers her grant writing skills with LoveSetMatch, which provides free tennis lessons to low-income neighborhoods.
When not at work, Inez enjoys learning guitar, cooking, playing tennis, and reading literary or science fiction.
